Root Canal Treatment

Endodontic treatments and therapies in Highworth, North Swindon

What is root canal Treatment?

When the blood or nerve supply or pulp of a tooth is infected as a result of decay or injury, root canal therapy or endodontics is required. Little pain may be felt in the early stages of infection, however your tooth may begin to darken in colour, meaning the nerve of the tooth has died (or is dying).

What is the procedure?

Endodontics treatment aims to remove all infection from the root canal. Our dentist in North Swindon will clean the root and fill it to prevent further infection.

How long will treatment take?

At least two visits to your dentist in Highworth, Wiltshire. The infected pulp will be removed and any abscesses will be drained at your first appointment. Next your dentist will clean and shape the root canal ready for the filling. Initially a temporary filling is added and is given time to settle. On your second visit the tooth is checked and subject to tooth being clear of infection, your tooth will be permanently filled.

How should I take care of my tooth?

Maintain your normal daily oral habit routine; brush twice per day with fluoride toothpaste, reduce your sugary snack intake, and attend regular dental
check-ups.

client TESTIMONIALS
Although a nervous patient, my dentist put me at ease and made the process much easier to cope with.
Belonging to Denplan halved the cost and I am really pleased with the result. The plate fits perfectly, the crowns look great, my teeth are so much whiter, and my smile has improved. I would gladly recommend my dentist to anyone. Worth every penny it cost.

communication during my treatment made me feel as a participant rather than
just a patient.
